Northwest Pre-Custom are Premium OTC orthotics that fill a niche between OTC insoles and our fully custom orthotics. A slim and unobtrusive option that is designed for anything from women's low volume flats, to men's athletic shoes, the product comes in sizes from 4 - 14 and is available in Firm or Gentle Flex.
The Dressette is a sleek OTC orthotic that is specifically designed to relieve the pain and fatigue associated with wearing high heels. This product is virtually invisable when being worn, and is designed for use with heels over 3.5cm in height.
The DBX6® is the lightest and most durable material available for fabricating foot orthoses. The DBX6® has a pre-shaped glass, graphite, neutral shell cut for easy molding. DBX6® captures morphology of the foot when the vacuum molding method is used (recommended for shaping). DBX6® has 4 patents that govern it's laminations and processes. It is these processes that have established the standards for shape and design
Northwest Podiatric Laboratory: the company where a gifted inventor and a professor emeritus of foot biomechanics joined forces to create a vision for the industry.
The company's roots began in 1964 in a small one room shop located in Blaine, Washington . The company Founder and President, Dennis Brown and Vice President, Christopher E. Smith, D.P.M., believed in the idea that innovation and quality would benefit podiatric care. With only two employees in a facility that was a stones throw from the U.S./Canadian Border, the company modestly began its' service to Podiatry. The road to developing new products and processes had begun.
It was Northwest Podiatric who researched and developed the first advanced graphite composite configuration to be used in custom foot orthotics. Composites allow us to produce orthotics which are lighter, stronger and significantly thinner. Many competitors continue to use 30 year old plastics technologies that rely on simple thickness for strength. Laminated orthotics virtually eliminate shoe fit problems because of their decreased bulk. Thousands of podiatrists and their patients have long since discovered the difference.
